Have loved it now for 37 years! One unique thing about my bank: Farmers Bank has been family owned for 109 years. The one person who’s had the greatest influence on my career: My boss for 10 years at the Peoples Bank of Point Pleasant, Joe E. was the greatest. Recent accomplishment: Appointed as Chairman of the West Virginia Bankers Associa- tion and just celebrated my 40th wedding anniversary with my wife Holly. First job: City Loan & Savings Co., Jackson, OH - teller/collector Biggest career break: Having a new customer to take care of everyday. The toughest part of the job: The changing regulations. The best advice I ever received: If you can’t do it right, don’t do it. Advice you would give young bankers: People, customers, and employees like compliments. Something about me not everyone knows: I am the son of a coalminer. About my family: We love to vacation together. Outside interests: I enjoy fly fishing & oil painting. Community involvement: Board member: Pleasant Valley Hospital, Mason County Com- munity Foundation, Mason County Development Authority & President of St. Paul Lutheran Church Council. Mike and his wife Holly reside in New Haven, WV. They have a daughter, Merrily a Pharmacist & son-in-law Dr. Lance Broy of Athens, OH and a son, Dr. Wesley Lieving & daughter-in-law Amanda of New Haven, WV.
